CERN and industry
During the construction phase of the LHC CERN spent a significant proportion of its budget with industry and the total contract value awarded during that time was some £3.4B. But this spending was not just for construction of LHC but included contracts for the day-to-day running of CERN and covered a huge range of activities, from computing, electronics, vacuum technology to cleaning and civil engineering projects.
